A humanitarian crisis looms in Thailand after the worst floods in decades left parts of Bangkok and other areas of the country immersed, relief agencies warned on Sunday.
The central business district of Bangkok has to be avoided, but now major floods had many of the areas close to their chest or waist in the water, making the residents had to flee their homes. The Thai Government has more than 1,700 homes across the country, where more than 111,000 people have sought refuge since the beginning of the floods in July after heavy monsoon rains.
More than 370 people have died and charities working in the country have warned of the risk of water-and insect-borne diseases such as malaria, diarrhea and fever of dengue fever in the coming days and weeks. Thai officials warned residents in the capital expect failures vigilant with electricity and tap water.
